Incredibles 2 is No. 2 at the box fice this week, closing out its third outing with a domestic total  $439.7 million.

Fallen Kingdom, whether or not it was a hit, was already planned to have a follow-up. The concluding chapter in the trilogy was given a release date June 11, 2021 back in February.

Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first film, will return to helm the third installment. He is cowriting the script with Emily Carmichael. “It’s important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive,” he told Variety the franchise. “I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to Fallen Kingdom and I know Emily will add another layer emotion to the concluding chapter our trilogy.”
