Marvel Is Bringing "Ghost Rider" & "Helstrom" To Hulu In 2020

Looks like Marvel’s Ghost Rider and Helstrom will be getting the live-action television treatment. It’s hard to deny the burning question on everyone’s mind – will Nicholas Cage reprise the role?! Sadly, he will not, and the legacy of his previous ride is doomed to become a folktale told ’round a campfire. Yet let us look to this reboot with an optimist’s good sense. Live-Action Marvel shows have been, for the most part, well-executed; Netflix subscribers are still lamenting the loss of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher. In this edition, the part of Robbie “Ghost Rider” Reyes will be played by Gabriel Luna, who remains eternally bound by a supernatural demon.

Showrunner and Executive Producer Ingrid Escajeda has already began hyping the series. I couldn’t be more excited and honored to be handed the reins to a Marvel character as beloved as GHOST RIDER,” she says, in a Marvel press release. “This story hits every note for me—my love for grounded yet conflicted characters and my desire to scare the $&!# out of people! It’s important to me to find a take that thrills existing fans as well as wider audiences and I believe we’ve done just that.”

As for Helstrom, the series centers around a brother and sister tracking down “humanity’s worst.” To further complicate matters, the siblings happen to be the son and daughter of a notorious and powerful serial killer. “As a lifelong Marvel fan, I feel incredibly fortunate to help bring this darker, thrilling corner of the comic book universe to life, and I’m just grateful to everyone at Marvel Television and Hulu for the opportunity,” explains showrunner Paul Zbyszewski. “Marvel’s known for all the heart, humor, and action they put into every series, but this time around we’re adding some scares to that mix. I think we’ve found a compelling way to dissect some of our deepest fears through the experiences of our two lead characters.”

Look for the dark series to land on Hulu in 2020. Have you any interest in another batch of live-action Marvel TV shows? Or are you still mourning the lost ones that came before?
