Taylor Swift will open the 2019 Billboard Music Award” with the worldwide premiere performance of her brand new smash hit new song “ME!” featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco. Swift joins previously announced performers Paula Abdul, BTS featuring Halsey, Ciara, Kelly Clarkson, Lauren Daigle, Dan + Shay, Halsey, Jonas Brothers, Tori Kelly, Khalid, Madonna and Maluma and Panic! At The Disco, plus a special performance by 2019 ICON Award recipient, Mariah Carey. The 2019 Billboard Music Awards, with returning host Kelly Clarkson, will broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 1st at 8 pm ET/PT on NBC and will feature this year’s hottest musical acts, unexpected collaborations and buzzworthy moments.
A 23-time BBMA winner – the most of any artist – Swift returns to the BBMA performance stage for the first time since 2013. Once again nominated this year, she received nods in two categories: Top Female Artist and Top Touring Artist.
Billboard Music Awards nominees and winners are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring and social engagement, tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound. The awards are based on the chart period of March 23, 2018 through March 7, 2019. As of press time, the “ME!” video has more than 30 million views since its release at midnight ET Friday (Apr 26th). The video was co-directed by Swift and Dave Meyers and features an array of colors and motifs. “ME!” is from Swift’s upcoming seventh album — her third purely pop record — due sometime later this year Republic Records, her new record label home.
